Matters arising from the minutes:
Alexa Waihaki has approached the district council for clarification of 2021 changes to rating.
She onforwarded an email from the council to the Trustees which was read to the meeting.
Partition of land will incur separate rates to council. Lease from the Trust should incur rates
payment to the Trust for the value of the lease.
Alexa to have meeting to present her proposal regarding two sections being created
alongside hers.
June has sent out financial statements. Website monthly maintenance account has been
paid by June - $31.00 to be reimbursed. June to also send in annual website account for
payment. Financials will be presented at next meeting.
General Business:
Aroha asked David about getting local contractor to keep down grass on the whenua to keep
land clear and tidy and reduce fire risk. David will look into this.
Aroha and family will be at Mahia for Easter working on their section. A toilet is in place and
they will be working on further building. A lean to? and positioning of three bay shed. Aroha
asked David about access from Lane Road to building site for shed materials. David’s
opinion is that there shouldn’t be any issue using track across dam.
June put to the meeting her idea regarding dividing the land into five parcels of six acres –
one parcel for each of the five whanau. Each family could then do as they wish on ‘their’
land allowing dwellings to be built and the land managed as seen fit. General discussion
took place around access to the parcels, management of the land, location of waterways and
taonga. Because of the nature of the ground, it would be necessary to investigate how
changes to land use and contour would impact the land and the flow on effects. Ideally a
geotech engineer would need to be engaged but these professional services are expensive.
David to find and speak with a local civil contractor and get their opinion on the land.
However, there is no formal proposal as yet. June will put one together.
It was decided that monthly meetings of the Trustee’s will be held about the 10 th of the month
on a Wednesday. The next meeting is April 10 at 6.00pm
There being no further business the meeting closed at 6.55pm
